The genomics unit brings together the comprehensive experience and resources to develop whole transcriptomics studies, from the experimental design to the interpretation of results. Paying special attention to experimental design, a sound expertise and specific equipment ((Agilent Bionalyzer 2100), enables us to ensure the representativeness, integrity and yield of RNA. For differential expression analysis, an Agilent microarrays platform is available, as a convenient, fast and reliable technology. In transcriptomics studies aimed to identify novel transcripts, such as ncRNA or gene isoforms, RNA-seq is the platform of choice. RNA-seq identifies the transcriptional boundaries down to single-base resolution and also provides a highly accurate quantitation and a high dynamic range, able to detect transcripts with low expression levels (see bioinformatics).
