Inbiotec will attend the 6th Congress of European Microbiologists (FEMS 2015), one of the leading meetings of its kind, bringing together microbiologists from all over the world. In this event, Inbiotec will be present showing some of the latest results from its R&D activities, putting forward a set of posters encompassing four biotechnological applications: Feruloyl-esterases in white biotechnology, biocoatings against microbial induced corrosion, microbial production of steroid-precursors, and improvement of industrial bioprocesses for amino acids production:

    • Penicillium chrysogenum b13, a feruloyl esterase factory.
    • Proteomic analysis of the Penicillium chrysogenum b13 enzymatic cocktail for lignocellulosic biomass saccharification.
    • Development of green alternative coatings to protect the metallic structures against the microbial induced corrosion process.
    • Metabolome analysis of the antimicrobial compounds secreted by environmentally isolated anti-mic microorganisms.
    • MySterI: a one‐step steroid precursors production project from Mycobacterium to industry.
    • Genome sequencing and ‘omics development for the steroid precursors producer Mycobacterium sp. NRRL B-3805.
    • L‐aspartic acid consumption as a base for amino acids and their derivatives production by Corynebacterium glutamicum.
    • Screening and validation of suitable gene integration locations along the genome of Corynebacterium glutamicum.

INBIOTEC attended the Review Meeting of the Project BIOCORIN.

Upcoming event:  BIOCORIN Launch Event at Science Park Amsterdam (30th June 2015)

Inbiotec, as a member of the BIOCORIN (“New biocoating for inhibition of corrosion in metal surfaces”) project-consortium, attended last 16-18 March, at the European Commission – CDMA – DG Research & Innovation in Brussels, the review meeting of the project. In this event, the results of the experimental work where evaluated and discussed with the Project Officer and EC experts.

Amsterdam will be next June 30th the venue of a Launch Event where academy, industry and other stakeholders in this sector will be invited to witness how BIOCORIN solution can be applied across EU.

Bio-industries Consortium Forum: Inbiotec puts forward microbial strategies to face biorefinery challenges

Inbiotec, as Associate Member of the European Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC), attended its extraordinary General Assembly last 4 February in Brussels. In this event, the 4 technical approaches proposed by Inbiotec to different industrial challenges, were selected by the Programming Core Group to be put forward during the meeting that brought together more than 200 companies and RTO members. Genetic engineering of molds and bacteria, as well as strategies for optimization of industrial processes, where the basis of the response suggested by Inbiotec to tackle a diversity of challenges in biorefinery processes.
